Questionnaire Results.

These are our questionnaire results we asked 20 people. 10 females and 10 males, so we had an even amout of data. so it was biased.

As you can see by the results we asked 10 males and 10 females. this made sure everything was fair and we had an even number. this also makes sure that we were not biased.

As you can see we asked more 15-18 year olds than any other age group as we feel as if our thriller opening would be mainly aimed at that particular age group. we didnt ask many out of that particular age group as we felt there would have been no point. we asked 2 people who where over 18 as we felt as if we needed a little bit of feedback from the older generation.

As you can see from our results people thought that a hybrid genre of a comedy thriller. how ever we could not make a comedy thriller opening as we had to get a different sort of atmosphere, we had to scare the audience make them feel on edge. sci-fi, crime and action where second i our questionnaire results, all of these genres are different, but all create a succesful thriller.

As you can see from our results 'donnie darko' and 'the happeing' where the two most liked thrillers out of the choice. This gives us an idea as we can get influence from either of the two films.

As you can see from our resutls eeerie music is blatenly the most the popular out of the choice, this is beacuse it is a convention of a typical thriller the music will add most of the atmosphere to the thriller opening.

An abonded house is the most popular answer out of the 5. But the woods where closely followed, as a class we had been told by our teacher not to film in a wood as it is very typical and wouldnt be the best place to film, also lighting would be hard to have access to in the woods, as if the weather wasnt to good, there would be no where to plug in any lighting.

there are an even mix between special effects and sound effects, I completely agree that special effects and sound effects play a huge part in a thriller film. as a group we knew that we would have to edit alot after we would have filmed. As special effects would be added alot durig the editing part. Sound effects can change a thriller film as well, this will play a big part in our opening.

As you can see from our results a female victim is the most common victim, this is very stereotypical but is true, and the male would be the attacker. This is very typical in thrillers, as has been used alot during the film era.

you can see that the most popular answer is once every two weeks. but this also shows that people arnt very fond on watching thrillers very often, more of a one off sort of thing, as they can scare people and arnt the most pleasent things to watch.

As you can see by the results 95% of our feedback was yes, this means that 19 people out of the 20 had studied post sixteen education, so this proves that the 5% havent been to further education.

As you can see the most common way of finding out about media is via television. this shows that the people we asked obviously watch television alot, thus cound be infering that they watch films alot, such as thrillers. this is positive feedback, as we could use the information to help us with how we could present our thriller.

The results show that there is a 50/50 split on whether they would buy a thriller film with spare change. This could show that people may spend there spare money on other stuff, or just save it for other use.

Audience Feedback.

overall my teacher and the class thought our first thriller opening idea, was the best. As it is unique and is quite creepy, and that it isn't a typical thriller story line, even though we would have used as many typical conventions as possible. Our class and teacher pointed out that it would be quite difficult to produce that idea, as there would be alot of special effects in it such, for example, we wanted to make henry look like a ghost, so that would have been difficult, we also wanted to write on the machinery using the macs, but this proved to be to difficult. The location we wanted to use, would have been perfect for the idea, as we wanted to use an airfield, for the WW2 theme. This would have given our opening alot of atmosphere, and would have really had the audience on the edge of their seats.spitfire.jpg

The feedback we got for our second idea, was fairly positive as it would be held in an abattoir this would give us an extremely good atmosphere. There would be dead deer hanging from the chains, our teacher pointed out that we could use this to our advantage and get some really good camera shots of the dead deer. The abattoir we be quite dark, so we would have to get some lighting, as we would need it desperately. How ever as it is a hostage situation, that is a very typical of a thriller, so we would had to change it slightly so it would be unique. The props we would use are quite difficult to get hold of, for example a dead deer would be hard to get, as you have to go out and shoot one. The gun wouldn't have been to hard, as henry knows people who have them. The knife would be quite easy as well, as it would just be one of henry skinning knifes.

The feedback we got for our third idea was that it was extremely unique, making it a good idea. The idea is a bit creepy though, as the father kills his own daughter, as she wasn't perfect and was just a nunsense. He couldn't take it anymore, so he ended up killing her, as she wasn't good enough for him. This hits a negative subject in the world, as one in four women are abused, whether its physical, mental or verbally that is performed by a family member or a boyfriend/husband. Also as we would need to film in a cemetery, it would be pretty difficult getting permission to film there, so we thought it wouldn't be the best of ideas.

Overall we came up with the idea to merge idea 2 and 3, giving us a religious thriller

History
The cemetery was opened in June 1855 and stone markers bearing that date were erected around the boundaries of the site. In 1904, it was extended up to 5½ acres and in 1999 when land for further burial plots was exhausted, another two acres were added beyond the brick wall and this is known today as the new cemetery. Ornamental iron railings in black and gold have been added to the low wall fronting the road although the lodge built for the cemetery supervisor was dismantled in 1960 and replaced by a modern bungalow, now used as offices.

Slaughterhouses act as the starting point of the meat industry, where stock come from farms/market to enter the food chain. They have existed as long as there have been settlements too large for individuals to rear their own stock for personal consumption.
